Matt Damon for Pres in 2012?

Figured this crowd would find this amusing.

Quote:
Matt Damon for president? In US politics, they have seen crazier scripts

The line between Hollywood fame and political power is often blurred, so suggestions that the liberal actor might run can't be dismissed
Even in the increasingly wild world of American politics, it seemed an especially crazy idea: Matt Damon for president? After all, the handsome actor, whose boyish good looks belie the fact that he has just turned 40, is still best known for his early role in Good Will Hunting, where he played a working-class Bostonian.

Since then, he has won plaudits in Hollywood for solid work in films ranging from action flicks to Invictus, which told the story of post-apartheid South Africa's rugby World Cup triumph.

So why is Damon's name being mentioned in the context of the 2012 race for the White House and a possible liberal challenge to Barack Obama? The simple answer is to blame leftwing firebrand Michael Moore.
The rest of the article is on the Guardian uk site: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011...sidential-race

This should be interesting...

Every one of his movies always have some underlying political theme. I think he believes his own press.

Who knows, maybe he's angling to become the next US ambassador to California.

Have you seriously listened to the drivel that the "man?" spouts?

I know, I know, "seriously" may have been too strong of a word for that baffoon.

He is a tool

Plain and simple, he is a tool. I couldn't believe the dribble coming out of his mouth.

Why do I care what an actors opinion is anyway? Why does anyone? They memorize lines, and do what they are told to do. That is it.

I wonder how Matt would feel about making sure his pay was equal to that of the editor or the stage hand. I am sure he would say he "earns" his pay.

Matt played a Soldier in "The Green Zone" (which was a piece of shit), while real Soldiers were and are being injured/killed everyday. Why are we giving this JackWagon the time of day?

A real Soldier doesn't get to go to his trailer and bitch about the bottled water when the director says "cut".

In short, fuck him.
