This guy seems to be exhibiting symptoms of mental illness, beyond just his references to Islam.
It will be interesting to see if he was externally influenced in person or via social media.
In my amateur opinion, Australia has a community of folks you will recognise who possess attitudes that are incongruent with modern western society, particularly in Sydney and surrounds.
