Hitting Rock Bottom

Went out with Tim Creech (Island Man) out of LaGrange, NC this past Wednesday to Stella. We hit the White Oak River's
ususal spots for trout. Nothing. Headed out to some oyster bars and islands and maybe a red....nope
/nada /zilch only thing we could find is a SKUNK. I was beginning to think TIm is a JINX.

Whats wrong with this gas gague readings. Yep somebody needs to look at the gagues better.
Best to look at the tank. Yep, out of gas, but only 1 turn from the boat ramp, so the trolling motor did its job.

On Thursday the 31st..Decided we would head to New Bern and check out the Rock population. Decided
we would head up river
on the Trent and troll for stripers. We put a few rods out with deep diving crankbaits. We made 2 passes
thru the area with nothing to show. We had decided if nothing on this next pass we would head out to the
Neuse and the high rise.

BAmmmmm fish on. Nice striper and it was on. Only problem was he fell into the slot (23 inches). I was
planning on a nice stew...

So we get ready to make some more trolls...oh yea we are pumped now. Troll thru and back....at the same
area all of a sudden Tim's heavy rod went to bouncing....oh yea big fish..a few moments later the fish jumped..
..looked like a big striper...oh man..finally get it to where I could see the fish and guess what....hooked in the tail.

This fish was estimated to be about 37 pounds.

Thanks Tim I had a blast. Hope to catch ya on the water next year.
