Well, to be fair, he could have argued with his recruiter that he was the victim of bad spin by politically correct LEOs. How many of us could have been described as dangerous and infatuated with guns and violent acts when we were 19? "Infatuated" is such a loaded term, and if my interest in military history and weapons had been characterized as an "infatuation" by some local cop, I might have had some dislike for law enforcement at that age too. Add into the fact that Alkazahg is a minority, and he might have had some reason growing up to view the police negatively.

I'm not defending Alkazahg. I have no idea what the real circumstances are. I'm just noting that I can see a set of circumstances where the Corps might have given him the benefit of the doubt.
