Looking for Info on Fred Clubine

Boys, I got this request from Dave Rothmann the retired Sr Warrant from the 10th. He works the as the safety officer now and has a trooper looking for info on his Dad, anyone remember Fred Clubine?

Don,

1. I hope the new year finds you and yours well. I know you’re no longer the President of the SF Assoc., but I have your e-mail and thought I’d ask if you could ask around.

2. We have a Soldier (SSG Tucker Clubine) working in our S6 who apparently thinks I look old (what’s that all about?), and asked if I may have known his father, who served in 10th Group years ago.

3. His father (SGT Fred Clubine) served with 10th Group (at Devens) and 46th Company in the late 60’s, early 70’s.

4. He has had no contact with his father for some time, and was interested in finding out as much about his military service as he could. Apparently his dad’s records were destroyed in the St. Louis fire years ago.

5. Here’s what he was able to provide for details that he knows:

a. DOB: 20 Feb 1950

b. He enlisted into the SF Program from Independence, Kansas in 1968

c. His MOS was 91-series and he did most of his medic training at Fort Sam Houston.

d. He did some training exercises in Panama.

e. He was assigned to 10 SFG at Fort Devens

f. He believes his father transferred to 46th Company in Thailand in ‘70 or ‘71

g. He left the military and Special Forces in 1971 as an E-5

h. Apparently one of his friends from training is a Jim Camp, who some years ago apparently lived in Pennsylvania.

i. This is apparently a picture of him: http://www.mak-d.com/SF/html/fred_clubine.html

6. I don’t know if you may have heard of him, or perhaps you may know someone who did.

7. I remember Joe Helme, my senior commo guy on 322, had been in 46th Co. I looked Joe up on Army Knowledge On-line (AKO) and couldn’t find him (no surprise I guess; that whole AKO thing is pretty new).

8. I’m sure this young Soldier would be appreciative of any information he could find out.

Thanks, and take care,

Dave
