Pygmy Marmoset, ever heard of it? Is a couple of "inches" long and weighs a couple of "ounces". Most have not but it might be the smallest primate on the planet, and yeah, humans found it and almost a dozen tiny primates in crazy thick jungles.
But we can't find a reported 7-9 foot, 400-500 lbs. hairy ape man anywhere in the world.
