Do not post information pertaining to casualties until official notification has been made and the loss announced officially.

Official notification of SF losses will normally be made through the USASOC PAO and will be published on their web site.

This is to prevent the premature release of this information to family members as well as the propogation of unconfirmed rumors that might be traumatic to friends and family.

You would not want your family members getting the word from an internet website. That is why we send out notification teams and casualty assistance officers. Be respectful and considerate of the fallen and their families.
