Great white Katharine pings half a mile from Canaveral National Seashore

For my Tourista Friends. We have a new water attraction at the Cape beach, give or take 30 miles!!!..

Quote:

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. —Cue the Jaws music. Central Florida's favorite great white shark Katharine pinged less than half a mile from the beach near Canaveral National Seashore early Friday morning.

According to a map provided by research group OCEARCH, the shark pinged about 600 yards from the shore.

The shark was last tracked in Central Florida back in May.The shark then then took a trip to the Gulf of Mexico.

OCEARCH has been tracking Katharine since August 2013 when she was tagged in Cape Cod, Mass.

Researchers said Katharine usually stays a few miles off shore, but they will alert local beaches if she comes too close.

Rest assured, we are working on several protective solutions..

YMMV
