From a lifelong Red Sox fan -- well done Yankees -- this is not the first class act I have witnessed by the Yankees.
My nephew once received the game ball in Fenway Park from Yankee star Mariano Rivera. The crowd went wild and my nephew was stunned. He was a cute 8 year old sitting in the front row next to the Yankee dugout with a Yankee shirt on...in sold out Fenway...but still.
Way to go Yanks !
New York Yankees Put Boston Rivalry Aside At Tonight's Game
ABC News

New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox: It’s a fierce and storied baseball rivalry that goes back decades and is arguably the biggest in American sports.
But in the wake of the Boston marathon bombing Monday that left three people dead and at least 170 people injured, the Yankees are putting differences aside at tonight’s game to pay tribute to their baseball brethren in Boston.
The Yankees tweeted today that the team will hold a special moment of silence tonight at their home game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and will also lead the crowd in a rendition of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” at the end of the third inning, an honored tradition at Fenway Park.
