Also FYI, it is possible to obtain an 18x contract being PS. Not only have numerous PS individuals state that they obtained an 18x contract (check armyranger.com, My career counselor informed me of the same.

You are either extremely lazy, or exceptionally bad with searches.

Search for SFAS issue boots. I believe that you will be busy reading for a while. Here is what I found in less than 10 seconds, the most recent response was less than six weeks ago with almost exactly the same title as this post.

Read the all of those as well as anything else you can find here about boots and get back to me when you are done.

Post no further till you have.

The fact that people still do not understand what the word "Issue" means leave me with low hopes for our future as a fighting force. I will have to pray that these people are weeded out during SOPC and SFAS. Now when I think of "Issue" gear, I see in my mind, the guy at the CIF or unit supply room pushing an item across the counter to me and asking me to sign for it. If I lose it, use it up, or want a spare, I DX it or go to a source and find THE EXACT SAME THING and buy it. If it is also on the approved packing list, I bring it. Not one similar, not one made in Korea, not what Hiking magazine recommends, not what a buddy heard from his girlfriend's uncle's cousin, twice removed, who saw a movie about SF.

You people are killing me.
