Found Yarborough
Found a Yarborough SN 0326 at the Tulsa Gunshow today. Dealer wants $1000.00 for it.
|
I'll see if we can find out who the owner was.
|
326 was owned by LTC ret. Russell E Tripp issued 12-Aug-03
|
Apparently someone has started faking these, at least one was shown on FBook from the Eugene, OR show that appeared to be a legitimate Chris Reeve Green Beret with a laser etch of Yarborough and serial number. So keep an eye out for that BS as well.
|
Good to know, if we hear from LTC Tripp I can contact the dealer either way.
|
Was thus the wanenmacher Tulsa show? If so I think that is the fake lasered green beret knife I mentioned. Or there may have been more than 1. The serial I saw posted elsewhere was 0376. If so Bill is being made aware.
I was incorrect above in assuming it was the Oregon knife show. |

That one is clearly laser etched
376 was owned by Joseph W. Battle issued 09-Sep-03 Example of what the numbers should look like attached also all of the newer knifes have SF-# |
Yep that's the one, I miss read the number in my pic through the glass. If I had known it was a fake, I'd have been harder on the guy:p. On the other hand, glad to clear this one up.
I knew you guys would track down the truth... |

If the Bill Harsey/Chris Reeve Signature on the blade is on the same side as the Yarborough & S/N it's not a real Yarboroug, at best it's a GB Knife that someone turned into a Fake "Y"!!
|
Mr. Martin,
This is the same fake from the Facebook group. |
