what the hell is this mount for? I know its for NVG's and for a helmet.......

15's? My how things have progressed. Last set I saw were 5's and they were only for 'them'.

Next you'll be telling me we use satellites and 'smart' phones and such.

It looks like some kind of power supply hook up on it and there is not a flip down lever.....

Maybe a newer/different version of this?

My guess is that it's for a AVS-6's or AVS-9'S. The power supply hookup would make complete sense in that case as those units generally have an external battery box that's attached to the back of the helmets.
