Granatgevär M48(M3 ?)

Found this video of a training shoot, using mixed dummy & HE(?).
I'm impressed. Looks like a keeper.

What is the effective range and how does the round do on penetration?

Are we getting the new lightweight M4 version??

That appears to be the Carl Gustav 84mm RR.

It was fielded to the Rangers when we ran out of 90mm RR ammo.

Since then, the same round goes into the AT-4 disposable rocket launcher.

When we were first issued those things, I think they rated the HEAT rounds as penetrating either 16 inches of armor or any-known-armor. I'm sure the ammo is improved from what it was then.

The Gustav is a hell of a lot easier to carry than the 90 mm (lovingly referred to as the "stovepipe"). And it came with quite a few different types of ammo, HEAT, buckshot, illum, maybe an HE round. Sight system was relatively easy as well.

They were also jumpable, as opposed to the 90 which we had to door bundle into Panama.
