Human Factors considerations of Undergrounds in Insurgencies
 

This should have been a MUST read for all VSP missions. Really good book, very cerebral in military thinking for some. Even for us SF Types IMO. But goes into better detail of how to run, control, develop and evolve an underground.

I think this Human Factors considerations of Undergrounds in Insurgencies should be updated to have a chapter covering the Cyber domain of warfare. As we all know today, Cyber is apart of our life. With an Underground it will be apart of it. We need to know how to understand it and use it effectively. I know many feel that Cyber is not a SF mission or skillset. IMO you are wrong. SF guys know about, use it daily and if their Undergrounds, Auxiliary and Guerrillas are using it then maybe our guys should know how to maximize it.

Here are a few articles and papers for thought. I know there are other articles and papers out there covering this topic. So upload them if you got any.

MISO (PSYOPS) was developing a Social Media Analytical Research Teams (SMART) Course. I don't know if it got fully stood up. But this was IMO a great Idea for MIST to send people to.

They want to support and make themselves relevant, well this is a area they can definitely go down.

MISO is so broke it can't be fixed. It has to be completely torn down and restarted. The first place to start is making it a career field for officers starting out as 2 LT's. Recruiting College students majoring in PR/Advertising/marketing. Creating partnerships with large firm's where Jr officers and NCO's can spend 6 month's working in the civilian world in those professional firms.

Unless you want everything to look like an AFN commercial, there has to be a major change.

They need to have experts in social engineering, psychology, technology, big data etc.

I agree that MISO needs to have LT and doing what you said. It would make that carrer field ten times better over all
