Juniata River, Pa

My wife and I go on a river "sojourn" each year. These are generally catered, planned trips where you just bring your boat and tent and they supply river guides and support shuttles and food. We went back to the Juniata this year as we enjoyed it last year. This is a small tributary to the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania.
Pictures are: Truck with the boats Our tent An idea of how many boats there were The river Elaine getting her gear ready for a day of paddling |

BuffaloBob,
I'm not sure what part of the Juniata you were on but if you enjoyed it you might want to come back for the Bloody Run. http://www.raystowncanoeclub.com/bloodyrun It draws a good crowd every year. If its not far enough for you, you could try going from Bedford to Raystown which is around 40 miles or so. |
We did the Bedford to Raystown segment last year and it was great. I'm probably going to make a solo run down the upper Potomac in the middle of July.
|
What did you think of the Bedford to Raystown run? My father in law wants to do it in one day. I haven't done the whole thing to know if its even entirely passable.
