Statement by the Department of Defense on Domestic Travel Restrictions

Statement by the Department of Defense on Domestic Travel Restrictions

While related to the Virus this covers all things DoD travel related.

https://www.defense.gov/Newsroom/Rel...-restrictions/

"Today, the Deputy Secretary of Defense David L. Norquist approved new travel restrictions for service members, DoD civilians, and their families assigned to DoD installations, facilities and surrounding areas within the United States and its territories. This restriction will halt all domestic travel, including Permanent Change of Station, and Temporary Duty. This restriction will also pause civilian hiring at DoD installations and components for persons who do not reside within the hiring entity's local commuting area.

Additionally, service members will be authorized local leave only, following Service guidelines. This new guidance is effective March 16 and continues through May 11...."

DOJ just put out that all TDY outside your division area is off. International TDYs off unless DC approves. Keep working and driving but basically no COM AIR.

This doesn’t break my heart......

All the ones I. Our office that are dead weight have been the first to ask about closing and Telework. Hell they do not do anything anyways:eek:

Same here. TDYs we had planned are off for now. I kinda hope they tell us to work from home.

they just made us go get tested since we were flying 2 weeks ago and some one popped positive from the flight on the return. My luck he was setting next to us. Pretty simple process. Drive up answer questions drive forward and get tested. They said we will have the results tomorrow.
Kinda nice to get rid of any doubts.......

My son is in a school at Ft. Sill at the moment but, luckily, my sister and her family live within the 250 mile radius so he's GTG as far as the holidays go. But, he's wondering how the no PCS will effect him. He's in the Guard but activated at the moment. After the school he won't be. Technically he's not going back to a base, he's going to his apartment...which he still has to find.

The pod cast from the War Room, Army War College conveyed how active duty troops are a significant asset that needs protection.

Here is an interview with Admiral James Stauridis on the subject:

At times the contributions and assets of our military have been taken for granted... times like these realization of skill sets and resources are potentially a huge difference maker.
