These are great read, case studies in insurgency and revolutionary warfare Vol 1

There are two Volumes for these. Here is the first of the two. This is a revised edition of the first edition published back in 1962 by Special Operations Research Office of the American University.

These are the books that Teams should take and assign two team mates to go a Vignette on how these would be conducted today.

Vol 2 is to big to up load, so here is the link for downloading Vol 2.

I ran into those readings a few months ago and it's fascinating how much information is available for free these days. The webpage for Assessing Revolutionary And Insurgent Strategies (ARIS) Studies where you'll find both parts in addition to other readings is:

http://www.soc.mil/ARIS/ARIS.html

They're available in PDF and EPUB format. Use EPUB for mobile reading because it allows for text to fit your screen instead of viewing it like a giant picture (like PDF does).

I added the link for Vol 2 to the top post.

In the late 70's (in 10th Group anyway) various volumes of the ARIS series referenced books were on the team hand receipts. I managed to liberate a set - still in my library....

Great stuff...I put those on my Kindle about a year ago, but still struggling to find the time needed to invest in them.
