I need help finding a holster

I'm looking for an IWB holster with a thumb break for my Kimber U.C. (thread here )

I have googled and checked every reference I can think of to find one but can't. Anyone have any suggestions where I can get one? If not anyone know someone who does custom Kydex or leather holsters?

Thanks for any help.

Check out Andrew's Custom leather at www.andrewsleather.com . They are about 20 min from my house. I have two of their holsters, one IWB, one on the belt. Their work is FANTASTIC! Mine are made of Tiger Shark. They are like a work of art. They will customize any of their setups for your liking. I cannot say enough good things about these guys.

What I use do not have "Thumb Breaks", but they work very well.
FIST K1/w I/O adapters Kydex Holster or a Milt Sparks Horsehide Versa Max 2 IWB.

I don't know if this will work for you but it is an IWB with a thumb break. It works with the Kimber Ultra Carry II so it might with the CDP.

If that doesn't work you can give one of the custom leather guys a call and see if they can make you a one off. I have the numbers for a couple of them if you are interested.

I did a google search and came up with this from DeSantis and they make one for the CDP.

Leather or kydex?

Peregrino 03-26-2005 22:51

SJ - Check out FIST Holsters. I saw them at the SHOT Show and it looked quality. What brought them to mind in your case is their laminated leather/kydex holsters. Looks like the best of both worlds. Google search got this - first hit:

http://www.gunnersalley.com/category....fistholsters/

I can't find the actual web address anywhere in their catalog but this site has good info and will probably get you there.

They make one for the Kimber Compact that should fit. I'm getting a bunch of Bladetech holsters but they're for utility use, not fancy at all. FWIW - Peregrino

Perferably Kydex, but at this point either/ or.

Thank you everyone for the reply's
I forgot to state I'm also looking for belt loops like these: http://www.fist-inc.com/holsters/holster/20.htm

My intent is for very good retention. I have had that pistol come out of 2 different IWB hoslters when it shouldn't have. So my only solution is to go with a thumb break.

AM, I really like the K1 w/o you got, I will be calling them on monday to see if they can put a thumb break on it. If not Ryan I'm ordering one off of your suggestion.

Thanks again everyone, I very much appericate it.

I'm also open to anymore suggestions you all may have.

Joe

I own Blade Tech, one of the best purchases I ever made. The others have good reps and have been doing some interesting work I have seen pics of.

If you're going leather, either Milt Sparks or Kramer

http://www.kramerleather.com/

I own a nice Kramer IWB as well.

Matt Delfatti Makes really good Leather kit too, IF you can stand the price and the wait. Comp-tac makes really good Kydex stuff as I have mentioned before, I have not seen one w/thumb break, but they could probably work something out.

I'll have to second that.

I have several Kramers and they are my favorites for concealed carry.

I am just not sure that Greg makes an thumbbreak on his IWB.

Personally, I have never had a pistol fall out of a Kramer yet.

Two thumbs way up on the Blade-Tech...I've got a handful of them for various handguns. I love their IWB with the J-Hook belt attachment.

And I just received the "Chest Rig" from Survival Sheath Systems...man, let me tell ya, the picture on the website does not do this justice. The kydex is impeccable and the harness is so much more than I expected. I've gotta say that this may just be the most solid kydex holster I've ever owned.

You won't go wrong either way...and I believe that either company will do custom work. Of course, it's gonna cost ya.
