M2 Headspace and Timing Gauge
Gents,
Looking for the safety message for the bad batch of Headspace gauges that came out in 2010 or 2011. Thanks. |
Have you looked on USASOC Safety homepage?

I can find on Army Safety, references to a 2008 report that involved the M3 gage being used to headspace the M2 resulting in an explosion. In that, they specify use of the correct gage (NSN, 5220-00-535-1217).
I haven't found anything about a bad batch or production lot. May this be what you are thinking of? Here is a link to a pdf I found: LINK....see page 3. |
Streck-Fu,
Thanks for the link. I found the same notice. But there was a bad batch of headspace and timing gages from one particular company. that's the memo I'm looking for. |

I searched all over the USASOC Safety portal...nada...but, that's not saying much....my "search-foo" is probably not strong enough..
I also asked the 18B tng developer....he hasn't seen anythin on it... |
Thanks for looking..

If you're talking about General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products corrosion issue that may affect dimensions check your PM and I'll send you some expanded text on it that I got from a loggie, who I give a pass to because he's still a helluva loggie. :) |
