Happy Golden Anniversary Unix
Interesting article discussing Bell Labs' upcoming commemoration, with a bit of backstory.
Unlike other bloated systems (and the "Enterprises" that have succumbed to the makers' constant upgrade extortion) many Unix systems still truck on, and have spawned very simple off-shoots that are ideal for REALLY securing one's personal device. Well done, thou faithful Golden Retriever. :lifter |

In case anybody has a passing curiosity of what is Unix vs what is Linux, there is some high level information here. |
I remember supporting Unix systems that would run for years without having to be restarted.
Alas, the enterprise nerds started insisting on Windows based systems and the nightmares increased. |

Kinda like a jet turbine, only 2 things stop it. Running out of fuel or catastrophic mechanical failure. And even later while MS is taking all the malicious incoming, need a patch? By the time you think of it your query reveals someone thought of it & made one 20 minutes ago. |
