Nice.

On another note, Hillary was out here last week fundraising "for her Senate Campaign". There were actually groups protesting her fundraising because they thought it would divert funds from the local pols.

There are a number of democratic - PACs I guess you'd call them - set up that the halfway sane democrats who are inclined to give may be sending their money to. Several governors have one called Heartland PAC which includes among others the Governors of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Montana. Then there's the One America Committee set up by John Edwards. Emily's List which I'll bet is pretty busy right about now.

Has Dean said anything about trying to get democrats elected? Or raising money for that purpose? Not that I know of. As Chairman it seems like that is part of his job. I can understand folks being a little disgruntled. ;)

Exactly. Even many "die hard" Dems I know are ranging from disgusted to disenchanted with the party as a whole.

You know, I used to think that Terry McAuliffe was about the best thing that could happen to the Dems.

That was before "Scream" Dean came along. Brilliant move.

Now they seem to be intent on playing to their extremist base on the far left. Look at Kennedy and Kerry over Alito.

The attacks on Alito, who enjoys large popular support, make their mean-spiritedness, personal attacks, and extremist agenda plain to anyone with an open mind, to include Independents and some Dem supporters. Same for the anti-war movement when so many Dems in Congress voted for it.

It does probably help get George Soroos to part with some millions of his own. Gotta' wonder if anyone has looked into their/his fund-raising?

If they think this will help them win back some Red states, I think they are sadly mistaken, but let's not tell them that.

First, I apologize if this is a silly question, but I've only worked on local campaigns.

Is he in trouble for spending the money or for lack of fundraising?

Feinstein reports $5.7 million on-hand for Senate race

WASHINGTON (AP) — Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., raised
$745,000 during the last three months of 2005 and said she had $5.7
million cash on hand as of Dec. 31.

California’s popular senior senator is seeking a third full
term; her fundraising pace has slowed as no formidable challenger
has emerged. A conservative former state legislator, Dick Mountjoy,
last week announced plans to challenge her, but he had not started
raising money during the reporting period.

Tuesday was the deadline for federal candidates to report their
fundraising totals for the three-month period to the Federal
Election Commission.

So the Senior Senator from Ca has got more cash on hand that the DNC?

Wannabe Candidate Sheehan had better get Hugo to cough up some starter dough, if She's going after Dianne's firmly planted seat...

The Democrats are raising cash. It's just the DNC that's not bringing home the bacon.

Wasn't it Gypsy who said "they appointed the idiot"? True, some of Dems did but that doesn't mean all of us trust him with the purse strings. And you're right. He is an idiot! LMAO!!

Senate Democrats Ahead Of GOP in Fundraising

By Thomas B. Edsall
Washington Post Staff Writer

The major Senate Democratic fundraising committee has pulled millions of dollars ahead of its Republican counterpart despite the solid GOP Senate majority and the fundraising advantages of incumbency.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, chaired by Sen. Charles E. Schumer (N.Y.), reported collecting $44 million in 2005, nearly $10 million more than the $35.5 million raised by the National Republican Senatorial Committee, chaired by Sen. Elizabeth Dole (N.C.).

More important, the Democratic committee ended the year with a cash balance of $25 million available for use in the 2006 elections, compared with the Senate Republicans' $10.5 million cash on hand.

I'd suspect much of what was once raised by the DNC is now going to the 501c and 527 outfits.

She'll just get Soros to hand her some cash. Then he will do the same thing he did during the last election, hand over large sums of money to Bloggers to start plugging specific candidates that he is backing.
