View Full Version : A final ride for Sergeant Michael McMullen.
Last week we drove over to the Maryland Eastern Shore. After we crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, we started noticing people standing by the highway. Kids were out in front of the schools; old folks sat in their wheelchairs in front of nursing homes; workers stood out in parking lots. Parents stood with their children by the highway. Firetrucks were out. Two sat with the ladders meeting over the highway, a huge flag hanging down. Firefighters in dress uniforms were out in numbers. Flags were flying for miles.
The cars in front of us began to pull over and we joined them. First came the escort motorcycles, then firetruck after firetruck after firetruck with sirens going and lights flashing, followed by the motorcycle brigade and vehicles carrying the rest of the firefighters.
They were taking one of their own to Arlington. It was quite a sight.
Rest in Peace, Sergeant McMullen.

RIP
Fitting for such a hero. He was a hero 2 times in my book. Domestic service and service to ones country both deserve respect in the highest regard. Men and women like this make me proud to wear the uniform.
Godspeed Sergeant McMullen, Rest in peace
