Gentlemen,
I just finished Thieves of Baghdad-----an excellent read. The book tells the story of our efforts to save Iraq's priceless antiquities following OIF I. The author (a Marine colonel, competitive boxer, classics scholar and Manhattan assistant DA---a true renaissance man---he would have made a great SF soldier had he chosen a different branch of service) deftly guides the reader through the complexities of his subject without trumpeting his own horn or coming across like a blowhard. Aside from the Indiana Jones-esque quality to the work, Thieves of Baghdad is also an interesting study of how the interagency process really works in the field----that alone makes this a must-read for all SF soldiers, IMHO.
