This is a new blog a friend from home in CA just posted... I find this extremely disturbing and the thing is from talking to him and other friends in college right now this is not a one time occurrence at all.

"So Tookie Williams got the juice, the system works. What was funny for me, if humor can be drawn from a man's death, is that the protesters outside the gate were the VERY same protesters that scream and shout here at SFSU on a regular basis. When I first came to state i thought they were just kind of crazy liberals, but my most recent debate with them showed a much uglier, for more sinister side. Turns out they are socialist and in turn, communists. They ended the debate with an impassioned speech about supporting the Iraqi resistance movement and starting a resistance movement here at home. They even went so far as to advocate violence here in the United States as a means to communist reform.....let that all digest because Leigh's about to open a can of whoop ass.

WHAT PLANET ARE THESE PEOPLE FROM!!!!! How in the hell do they get away with this!!! Let me break down a few definitions for you and YOU tell ME if these definitions match these socialists at my school.
Treason: the crime of betraying one's country, esp. by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government
Sedition: conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state.
Traitor: a person who betrays a friend, country, principle, etc.

Treason is the action of a traitor, different form, don't bust my balls on it. All of these are Felonies. One is punishable by death. So why isn't anyone doing anything about it? It's because they are afraid. They don't want to be labeled as "close minded" or "killing free speech." In my opinion these people need to clean up their act or leave....to.....oh i don't know, China maybe? Or perhaps we could be a little less harsh....France? Where is the outrage? We spent 50 years fighting communism, now we're just going to roll over and take it from what has proved itself to be THE MOST OPPRESSIVE form of government. HELL NO. This problem is real, and growing. What's so scary is that they push their agenda not by convincing you and I that their system is better, but by undermining our current form of government. They attack the two party system, the legitimacy of democracy, capitalism, religion and the family. All these things are road blocks in the progress of communism. They can't have a revolution until they break down this system, because the people wont revolt when the system works. Let us pray to God they don't succeed.

Let's hear from the people's. What should be done with students who openly advocate the violent overthrow of the United States government and support our enemies in Iraq?"

There's a differance between advocating something and actually trying...what do your treason/sedition laws say about it?

They arrested the Arab Animal Rights protester in PA who said he was going to have his AQ buddies hunt the bear hunters next year. His hearing is in a couple of days. I am interested in the outcome.

I think this should be like the yelling "FIRE" in a theater law. It doesn't matter if he was serious or joking.

Of course after we cool off we have to return to the 1st Amendment. Talking and advocating are probably allowed as long as no concrete acts materialize.

I know it shouldn't but the thought of a bunch of AQ types roaming the woods of Pa during bear season would be worth the price of admission. Heck I would galdly apply for a permit so long as there isn't a limit to the number I could bag. I suppose Pa good ole boys aren't too far removed from southern good ole boys.:p

This country was started by a revolution, managed to hold itself together before, during and after The War between the States, Reconstruction, the Depression, WWI, WWII and even two terms with Clinton in the White House.

I don't see these individuals putting even a dent in the fabric of the U.S.

Huey,

Our sedition laws are alot like adultery laws. Well...........upon deeper thought they more closely resemble the "No Parking Fire Lane" laws. Posted and published as a deterent but as effective as a scarecrow. The Patriot Act again addressed sedition, and again the Crows feast in the garden unintimidated.

My rudimentary opinion. Apologies to RL and AL for stepping into their arena here.

I think alot of those liberal commie students are too busy smoking pot to bother trying to undermine the government. The group to worry about is the ACLU. They might have a screwed up agenda, but they're smart enough to realize that the legal system is the way to change the government, not peace and love rallies.

Concur.

And the boss of Progressive Insurance just donated $8.5 million to the ACLU, no doubt to be used to help pedophiles, pornographers, Commies, militant atheists, criminals, the insane, and scum of the Earth of all flavors enjoy their right to deprive the rest of us.

Thanks for pointing that out. Looks like I will be shopping for a new policy in the morning.

I see nothing different today from the past 40 years when the same idiot "group" of "enlightened" students advocated the exact same thing. With the down fall of communist states, ie Soviet Union, one would think they would realize it does not work.

BUT WAIT! Talk to them and their answer was that the wrong people were in charge and that they, and their enlightened professors, know how to do it right.

Eventually they, just as their parents, will grow up and try to forget just how stupid they were in those awful, embarrassing days of enlightenment.

Nothing new here, move on, move on. :D

Not to defend anybody but youth (in my case anyone under 65:D ) have always been 1. joiners and 2. champion protests against the establishment.

One of the prominent Greek Philosophers gave a definition of the youth of his day that has stood up over the span of time.

Most grow out of it and become part of the "dreaded establishment". Others, thankfully few, become Kerrys and Kennedys.

I was thinking of those two bozos and remembered that most of the Dems in Congress were in that group of "enlightened useful fools". Didn't want to just pick on those two. :D :munchin

Regarding "Tookie," I think if you are going to be a "badass" gangster, you're name shouldn't rhyme with "cookie.":munchin

Anyway, there were LOTS of interviews on local TV and radio for the Tookie supporters. Many of the people were unable to articulate basic thoughts or ideas into complete sentences. Didn't matter if they were 18 or 50. Pretty shocking really.

I figured the Tookie supporters would have G2'd some canned response for the cameras, but no!!! I don't think it was dope, booze, or any other external factors, other than just being born a dumbass. No amount of schooling can change that!!!

Even fake Army CPT Mike Farrel ("BJ" on M.A.S.H.) came off sounding like a fool. Guess it's pretty hard to defend a POS like Tookie, even for the ultra left...:)
