Who is going to win and why?

Best sign at the USC-UCLA game: "We will mess with Texas!" LMAO

Gee, we're really intimidated now.

Not only are you going down, you're dropping to #3. Enjoy.

USC will win for three reasons; 1) Reggie Bush is the most talented player on a team of them; 2) Texas is a one man show and (as was proved by A&M) when he is hit repeatedly, and defensed tightly, Young loses his composure; 3) It's a home game.

Penn State will be number #2 (BLAST! One second from playing in this game!!! I hate Michgan!) :D

I saw a damn good Ohio State team pound him and all he did was throw the winning touchdown, the bastard. I am hoping Texas can prepare properly for this game, but Mack Brown just doesn't seem to get his teams ready for games like these. USC 38 Texas 31.

Yep, the same team you shared the Big Ten crown with, and the same OSU that finished just below your team in the BCS @ #4.

LOL. I am trying to make excuses for a 9-2 season by Ohio State if you'll let me. We did lose to the #2 and #3 teams in the country, so there is some consolation in that. Besides we beat Michigan, and that counts for a lot.

Whatching USC give UCLA a beat down. I ended up making a couple of bets the first, USC beats Texas. Then just cause I get cranky sometimes, bet number two says USC wins by 20. I'm pretty sure I'll lose the second bet but it sure did heat things up for a while. Of course I was in a room filled with USC and UCLA alums and a couple of UT grads. Sometimes I just can't resist poking the hornets nest.

It will be a great Rose Bowl.

I'm not really all that into College Football, but thats cuz I'm from New England and my school is a D3 team. But I have to say when you've got a QB/RB combo like Leinart and Bush there's not much a defense can do to stop them. Plus USC has the only Pats connection that I know of so I'm goin with them.:p

USC, they are way more redneck.... (im Georgian...so I can make that joke....)

But in all seriousness, USC has a better offense in my opinon and I think that they can pull it through to make a large point gain on Texas.

**WARNING....Slight Hijack w/Rant**

I hate the BCS.

The ROSE Bowl is for Big 10 and Pac 10 Only....Always has been, always should be.

With all these "Bowls" popping up EVERY year, and it seems there is a few new ones every year, I'm just so turned off by collage football, this time of year.

If your team makes it past .500 for the season, seems they're assured a bowl, somewhere.

If you've got ALL these teams going undefeated every year, get the collage playoffs up and running, and leave tradition ALONE !!!!!

I disagree. As long as the issue is not decided upon the field there is no true "best" team, just the only two undefeated teams.

Here is something to look at: USC's and Texas' schedules are pretty comparable. Both had two tough games against highly ranked opponents (TEX: OSU, Tech ; USC: ND, UCLA), so I argue the strength of schedule is relatively comparable with a small edge going to USC because of the Oregon game.

Comparing total points scored by the offense and opponents' total offense for both teams, you get: Offense - TEX 611 USC 617 , Opp Offense - TEX 175 USC 256. I think that disparity is worth noting. Not saying it is everything, but as much as people jock USC's offense, their defense sucks.

GO HORNS! :lifter

!

Yeah I guess those two national titles in 04 and 05, and a 31 game win streak would make you think that huh? No I am not an SC fan.

The Rose bowl should be USC and Penn State but hey, I am just a college football purist. There was a time in the not so distant past that Jan 1 meant something to many teams vying to be voted number one. The BCS turned Jan1 into just another day all in the name of $$$$$. Is there really a need for a game on Jan 2, or Jan 4? The BCS sucks as do the conference chiefs who heaped this abomination on the fans!!!!!!!!

I wish there were some sort of playoffs in College Fooooosball. (I'm still down here in New Orleans... its rubbing off)

RL you should hear the drivel on the local sports radio shows, LSU fans hate SC! Its like penis envy or something.

Dear John:

I want to thank you and your staff and your whole squad for the wonderful manner in which you all made me feel a part of the group.

I shall treasure the football and start using it to train my four-and-a-half year old kid.

I think the Texas bunch were good losers, but tell the squad we don’t care whether their opponents are good losers or bad losers as long as they lose.

Good luck for the rest of the season. There’ll be two fellows in Mexico rooting all the way – Cabot and Wayne.

Fond regards,

(signed “Duke”)
