From the article:
To deflect attention from the misleading prewar intelligence, one can expect some partisan activists to trot out the line, “Well, when Clinton lied, nobody died.”

Thankfully, hostile action killed no American or NATO personnel in Bosnia

While I couldn't find any reports of casualties listed for Bosnia, I still vividly remember watching a news report of the first soldier killed in Bosnia, by a landmine.

From there, various mine casualty reports continued until Bosnia was no longer a news item.

Anyone else remember this?

I know the author. Good guy, although more libertarian than many of you would like.

These people are not messing around. I feel this is going to get pretty serious play in the press.

Just showing what may be coming down the pipe, and interested in other peoples viewpoints. I am not smart enough to comment on this stuff, but it could get serious PR for the dems.

I remember reading it in the Army Times. I kept count in my head until I got up to about 22 or so. Land mines, vehicle rollovers, snipers even one jump death. Since we now have troops here and there all over the Balkins its been a slow steady drip, drip of accidents and casualties.

But then its not news unless the MSN says it is and reports it.

Pete,

Thanks backing me up on this one. I finally quit searching the Internet after I found a website that supposedly kept track of all US casualties since Vietnam and they listed Bosnia with "No official casualties."

It must be the "hostile action" term they mentioned in the article.

I guess mines, and snipers just aren't hostile enough.

Regardless, I won't forget them. RIP

I hear alot of reporters worldwide saying that Iraq is this generations Viet-nam. I find it "interesting", to say the least, how the entire world still refuses to admit what was/is going on in The Balkans.

Gentleman, I want to go on the record here as stating that Kofi Annan is a dictator/thug in his own right and the UN is becoming, well...I'll refrain so as to not give the LIBERALS any help and maintain my integrity. Excuse my rant.

...I still vividly remember watching a news report of the first soldier killed in Bosnia, by a landmine.

While he wasn't the first (although he was among the first), 10th SFGA lost SSG Joe Suponcic in Kamenica, Kosovo in December 1999 when his HMMWV ran over a landmine near the base of a Russian unit.
