This is a hearts and minds kind of book.

I have given away a bunch of copies of this book to various village "heath care workers" and it was always well received.

I have a copy in my book shelf that I turn to now and again.

It is available in a wide range of languages..(for translations: http://www.hesperian.org/translations_1.html)

For English:

"Where there is no Doctor" and "Where there is no Dentist" have both been quite popular for at least the past 2 decades...it is good to see them coming out with other texts.

Sten - The next time you want to recommend a book, please include the title somewhere in the body of the post. It's rude and very annoying to make people follow links just to find out what you're talking about. Especially since many of us have known about No Doctor/No Dentist for >20 years. 7th Gp actually issued the Spanish version to interested persons 10(?) years ago. Peregrino

Quick note.. Everyone in Phase IV was given these two books among the other manuals recieved. Not sure how long they've been doing this. The SERE instructors recommended these as well.
