Customer glued to toilet seat sues Home Depot
Updated: 12:06 p.m. ET Nov. 3, 2005
BOULDER, Colo. - Home Depot was sued by a shopper who claims he got stuck to a restroom toilet seat because a prankster had smeared it with glue.
Bob Dougherty, 57, accused employees of ignoring his cries for help for about 15 minutes because they thought he was kidding.
“They left me there, going through all that stress,” Dougherty told The (Boulder) Daily Camera. “They just let me rot.”
The lawsuit, filed Friday, said Dougherty was recovering from heart bypass surgery and thought he was having a heart attack when he got stuck at the Louisville store on the day before Halloween 2003. A store employee who heard him calling for help informed the head clerk by radio, but the head clerk “believed it to be a hoax,” the lawsuit said.
Home Depot spokeswoman Kathryn Gallagher said she could not comment on pending litigation.
The lawsuit said store officials called for an ambulance after about 15 minutes. Paramedics unbolted the toilet seat, and as they wheeled the “frightened and humiliated” Dougherty out of the store, he passed out.
The lawsuit said the toilet seat separated from his skin, leaving abrasions.
“This is not Home Depot’s fault,” he said. “But I am blaming them for letting me hang in there and just ignoring me.”

I don't know what I would have done myself, hearing someone in the bathroom saying that. He could have asked someone for a screwdriver, and unscrewed the seat :)
Kind of off topic, but years ago in Seattle, there was a man who sat down on a toilet in Starbucks. He says that when he sat down, the toilet seat moved, and pinched him so bad, he could no longer perform in the bedroom. My guess is he couldn't before, and just wanted to get some money out of it. He lost the suit of course.

Reason #347, Why you should always carry a "Leatherman" tool.
Reason #212, Why you should always look where you're going, before you go.

Man glued to toilet sticks to story
DENVER, Colorado (AP) -- A man who sued Home Depot claiming that a prank left him glued to a restroom toilet seat has passed a lie detector test, a newspaper reported.
The questions covered allegations that he made previous a similar claim in another town, according to a story in The Rocky Mountain News.
Bob Dougherty answered 20 questions in the polygraph test, including four related to a former Nederland town official's allegation that Dougherty made similar claims there, the newspaper story said. (how many times do you have to have your ass glued to the toilet seat before you check before you sit?
Dougherty, 57, offered to take the test to dispel doubts about his story. The test, administered Wednesday, was paid for by television station KDVR.
Ron Trzepacz, former director of operations in Nederland, where Dougherty lives, said that Dougherty claimed in 2004 that he was glued to a toilet seat in the town's visitor center but pulled himself free.
This is why I never use public toilets, except for standing up.

No that would be the high altitude strategic bombing technique employed when the site is so contaminated that you stand on the seat and squat.

It is this method that gets poo water all over the toilet so that people that normally sit on the toilet have to employ said method. I hate that:mad:
