We have a government. Labour is in in a Devil's pact with NZ First and United Future. The Greens are supplying confidence.

Under the agreement the leaders of NZF and UF have ministerial positions outside Cabinet. Dunne (UF leader) has some bollocks position, while Peters (NZF leader) is now the Minister of Foreign Affairs. While nearly anything he does has to be passed up to Cabinet to get approved, he will still be our main representative (other than the Prime Minister) overseas.

This has not impressed most of the world.

Of particular interest is that your new Foriegn Minister, Winston Peters, has immediately come out in support of bettering ties with the United States. I am sure he is driven by Free Trade agreements.

But what is up with the Maoris. Don't understand the "special treatment", but apparently the topic was enough to win some votes. Is that not tantamount to a political party in the United States constructing a platform repealing laws that favor our indigs, the Indians?

Not being critical just trying to understand the reason behind it.

Pretty much. It's quite a contentious issue actually. In my opinion I can see some kind of a race divide opening up and a small civil war occuring.

Re FTA. Everyone wants an FTA with the US. It's just our nuclear issue getting in the way. It's holding us back in a few area IMO.

We've got one on the cards with China. Though that will be interesting because Dunne has often come out and said Taiwan is an independant country and Peters often critisises China.

Personally I can't see this government achieving much nor last beyond two years.
