Found this the other day and was looking for thoughts and opinions...

Book: "Infantry Combat: The Rifle Platoon: An Interactive Exercise in Small-Unit Tactics and Leadership"

Author: John F. Antal

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=CX0C11HCwX&isbn=089141536X&itm=5

I haven't read it yet, but it looks like an entertaining primer on small unit leadership and infantry tactics...

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Aric

I read it and enjoyed it. For someone who has no experience it's somewhat eye opening and thought provoking. However, I suspect that if one has any real training in small unit leadership and tactics they are way beyond what lessons the book can impart.

The model the book uses, would lend itself well to an interactive video game, and if there were multiple scenarios, so a player/ student could apply what they've learned and grow as a tactician, it could be useful.

There's a sequel where you command an armored platoon, IIRC. Played it, too, and enjoyed it.
