View Full Version : Blue Infantry Cord
Who wears it? Where & when? My question concerns the uniform of a deceased senior enlisted man. He was in Special Forces. On his uniform, I saw the left sleeve, the customary airborne tab & SF patch were there (Ranger tab, too). His combat patch was 2ID from Korea. What caught my eye was there was an infantry rope on the right side & infantry brass on his collar with the blue disks underneath the US & the crossed rifles. He retired in 1974. I don't think that anyone serving in Special Forces wears the rope, disks or infantry brass. Am I wrong? I am acquainted with 670-1, but I would appreciate confirmation.
Thanks,
The SP5IC
The Infantyry cord is worn in conjunction with infantry brass IOW assigned the 11- CMF. If he was wearing an SF Patch etc. even though he was in the 2ID during the Korean conflict, the brass and cord were inappropriate.
IIt was probably an innocent error on the part of people who don't know better. I hope you aren't planing on digging him up. :D :D :D
Did you get whacked or just takinhg a break like I? :p

TD & others,
A foreign national purchased this uniform. It is heavy duty...DSC, SS, PHs, double CIB & loads of stuff. I saw the infantry insignia & quizzed him. He was reticent at first, but I now have the name of the deceased Sergeant Major. Since the collector is not in the USA, I'll help him make the uniform correct as it is in a museum. Anybody got a set of LLDB master wings...cheap?
