I wonder if he gets to write off the fine as a business expense, or is it a campaign expense?

I wished he got jail time and met bubba.

Did he plead to a felony or a misdemeanor? The article does not say . . .

Great. I'd have gotten 10-20 years in a federal pen, reduction to E-1 and forfiture of all pay and allowences.

Did he plead to a felony or a misdemeanor? The article does not say . . .He pled to violating 18 U.S. Code § 1924, Unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or material, which is a misdemeanor. Based on his allocution, in my lay opinion, he was easily guilty of a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 793, Gathering, transmitting or losing defense information, which is a felony.

This clown ought not to be able to gain access to the bulletin board much less classified information of any type for the rest of his life. This is absolutely incredible and just shows you how secure anything is at the top of the food chain.

What really chaffs my ass is that they drum the storage and security of classified information into our heads from the first day you're granted access to the material, yet the weenies in DC just toss it around like it's the daily paper

It's amazing who gets jobs and clearances at the highest levels. With regards to bubbas cabinent, is there anyone left who hasn't been convicted of something???

What a disgraceful POS!!!

Community service??? He should have at least been sentened to 100 hours of intense PT.

"Front leaning rest position, MOVE!!!" :D

The way that the people in these highly sensitive roles seem to disregard human life on a whim is just unbelievable.

I read about the Plame case and was just downright appalled about the blase attitude taken re the risk to that agents life.

This seems to be more of the same. Have these guys forgotten that this is not just a political game, that they may be directly responsible for the death of one of their citizens?

If not, then they obviously are disregarding that possibility as important, and if so...Community service??? He should have at least been sentened to 100 hours of intense PT.... I'm thinking the world needs more roadside trash collectors wearing large orange overalls with "I'm so "sloppy", this was the only job they trusted me with" emblazoned on the back. :D

I agree with your sentiment, but do not believe what you have read in our liberal press about Valerie Plame. She was actually outed by her husband and her own actions and had been flying a desk for several years, and was no longer in "agent" status. Now that is not to say that her exposure did not put at risk all those with whom she dealt during her earlier years and with that point you are absolutely on target, but this was a political game played mostly by her husband to discredit the other side and very little of what was printed in our various media outlets have any real basis in fact.

"President Clinton's national security adviser removed classified documents from the National Archives, hid them under a construction trailer and later tried to find the trash collector to retrieve them, the agency's internal watchdog said Wednesday."

Can someone please remind me why he's not a guest at Club Fed for the holidays?

+1. Maisy, your anger is mis-placeed in this case. I have kept up with this (open source) and there was no "outing", she was never in danger of anything nor was there any conspiracy or even crime committed as far as I can tell.

Valerie Plame and her husband are full of shit. Or shyte in this case.

And BTW - her tradecraft absolutely sucked.

The only thing worse than terrorists are corrupt politicians.

Any bets slick willie had a hand in reducing this convicts sentence?

I’m sure the terrorists know who their friends are in the US Government.

A prime example of why Americans dislike, distrust and thoroughly despise government and politicians.

Sandy Berger is a political scum-sucking bottom feeder and should be in prison serving hard time. Had anyone in the United States military done what this fat cheeked puss sack did we would be serving hard time in a federal penitentiary.

Americans should ask themselves what could be so damaging that this clammy handed bottom feeder would risk becoming a convicted butt boy.

My guess would be that sissy boy sandy stole memo’s written by slick willie concerning

a. WMD’s slick willie knew about in Iraq prior to the 2003 invasion,

b. documents slick willie knew about or wrote that spelled out saddams involvement/complicity with al qaeda or

c. documents of slick willie’s failed attempt to negotiate with osama bin laden not to attack the United States.

I would guess by the amount of documents sandy berger lifted from the National Archives it was probably all three of the reasons above.

Slick willie and sandy berger, one an impeached president and the other a convict.

Wake up America it’s time to take out the trash.

FOX News Special Report 'Socks, Scissors, Paper: The Sandy Berger Caper' Questions Probe of Theft at the National Archives
Friday, March 30, 2007

Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., is charging a cover-up by the Justice Department in connection with the 2003 theft and destruction of top secret documents by Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Berger. Davis also told FOX News that he is not convinced that Berger was not acting under direction from the Clinton Administration.

"I'm not convinced that he was acting alone," Davis said. "They could have well said, ‘Sandy, do you remember that document way back — that I wrote to you ... We can't get this into the record. This is gonna make us look terrible.' "

Davis' comments came in a FOX News special, "Socks, Scissors, Paper: The Sandy Berger Caper," to be broadcast on FOX News Channel on Saturday, March 31 at 9 p.m. EDT. The program is hosted by David Asman.

Davis is not the only one close to the case who says Berger's crimes need further investigation.

I've been saying this since the case developed it's self in the liberal media and press. IIRC Valerier Plame was actually pulled from the Brewster Jennings cover for her inability to perform critical trade craft practices while in a cover status over seas. Brewster Jennings being the business cover in Europe and in Washington.

1st Question: Why was Mr. Wilson sent on what should have been a clandestine operation for yellow cake counter proliferation confirmation ?

2nd Question: Since she was not on "Agent" status, then why has it been reported all along that this was an "outing" of a clandestine case officer ? (She sat in a cubicle at Langley) We all know the political answer, but why has the public swallowed this hook line and sinker ?

3rd Question: Since Wilson traveled as a diplomat, why would he or anyone else believe that any confirmation of shipments of yellow cake be disclosed by a nation seeking to aid terrorist ? (This should be fairly simle, but not according to the liberal democrats)

Couldn't agree more that berg(l)er should be rotting in a jail somewhere for what he did, along with everyone else that was involved. Where is the outrage? Where is the MSM, aren't they all about digging "for the truth" since the "American public has the right to know"?

Never happen. This piece of ass-bacon is one of the Clintons Chosen Few. No harm may befall him.

Except maybe once he gets to prison. One can only hope.
