BMT (RIP)

Perhaps it is time that FEMA, the National Guard, Coast Guard and U.S. military be relieved of their rescue and recovery efforts in the Katrina disaster area and the media be given the responsibility for the effort.
Virtually every report that one sees, hears or reads from the media is filled with an "I could do better" attitude. These arrogant, self-important types need to shed their "holier-than-thou" attitude and get behind those whose responsibility it is to deal with this disaster rather than denigrate and belittle their efforts.
The media need to put aside their own petty agendas and start doing something constructive. To paraphrase an old cliche -- those who can, do; those who can't become reporters.
