I don't get it. Even if you are a thief and and the worst sort of criminal, what would you get out of shooting contractors who do repairs under police escort? Is this attempted murder just for the fun of it?

The headlines are being quashed by the MS redneck law of fair and equal retribution as nobody here cares about the thugs- not cop, local citizen, or local courts. There are no reporters embedded into those militaryunits, and the police damn sure don't mind that trained soldiers are taking care of business as needed. If you have a gun in your hand while you loot or attempt to cause a disruption... you just bought a special ticket to meet your maker.
Check the news in Jackson County mississippi in the coming days, I know there are four less sh%theads looting the streets and intimidating the weak courtesy of the some deployed special visitors to the coast. :cool:
AS the police in my AO tell it, the NG and their tactics and techniques perfected in Iraq and/or the trainup for deployment work extremely well against thugs and bullies. :lifter

That would be my view.
I figured that out the middle of last week.
Days of supply in the city was low and exacerbated by the storm/transportation damage.
