This AOR is not the same as Asia in a geographic sense (which would include most of the Middle East), but corresponds to the AOR of the United States Pacific Command. A map of the AOR is available here (http://www.pacom.mil/graphics/jpeg/AOR-banner.jpg).

For convenience's sake, the region may be divided into the following sub-regions:

East Asia:
China, People's Republic of (PRC)
China, Republic of (ROC, or Taiwan)
Japan
Korea, North (DPRK)
Korea, South (ROK)
Mongolia
South Asia and the Indian Ocean:
Bangladesh
Bhutan
India
Nepal
Sri Lanka
This region also covers various island states in the Indian Ocean: Comoros, Madagascar, Maldives and Mauritius. Although South Asia conventionally includes Pakistan and Afghanistan, these are included under "Middle East (http://www.professionalsoldiers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=109)" as they are in CENTCOM's AOR.Southeast Asia:

There are also various colonies and dependencies of other nations in this region, such as Guam, French Polynesia and the Cook Islands (whose status is "self-governing in free association with New Zealand").
