This apparently happened a couple of months ago, but there is a full spread with videos and stuff here (http://www.armedforcesjournal.com/blackwater/). The LeMas ammo again was featured prominently.

That auto-shotgun looks like a lot of fun.

And that HK416 looks almost like a toy; it's so short!
Must be light as a feather though....

My bet is a POF Shorty M-4.
I've seen this config only once or twice before and I'm curious...
Why do folks shoot without a front sight but still retain back up iron sights (or in the case of this 416 diopter sights) and optics only?
I'm not trained with carbine or rifle shooting, but I was under the impression that lining up front and optics/rear sights was how you made sure the weapon was in line with the target.

The auto shotgun was fun to shoot, not particularly practical for the field.
Last rifle on the left is the 10.5" version of the HK416.
Weight is roughly the same as the 10.5" M-4, with the 416 being slightly heavier, IIRC.
Front sight is modular and removable. You do not need a front sight with the optical sight in place, as long as it is functioning. I have no idea why the rear sight was mounted and the front sight was not, other than the possibility that the front was easier to remove.

Is that due to the piston and/or has H&K "beefed" it up in other areas?

The M-4 gas system is lighter than the HK416, as are the M4 mags.

TR,
Sir, is the BW shoot an invite only deal?

TR,
Sir, is the BW shoot an invite only deal?
Yes, it is. :D
Some of the members of this board are lucky enough to be invited.

TR, How does this compare with the M4?

Much better.
New upper, and new mags, we wouldn't need the ungodly XM8 POS.
Course, that wouldn't cost much money, create as many jobs, or provide as snappy a line for the procurement guy's report card, so it is probably doomed.
