I've been drooling over Striders for the past few years and finally bit the bullet. I picked up a new (to me) Strider AR with the digicam blade and coyote G-10. To say that this knife is big, thick, and heavy is a serious understatement. I haven't put it through enough use to give a full review yet, but hopefully I will get one up here before too long. For now, here are the photos:

Compared with my Emerson SOCFK:

Very nice blade Rat.
Nice work there Mr. Strider!
You know its going to get to the point where the camo on the knife is sooo good that when you drop it in the forest it will take you ten minutes to find it......

Yeah, but what scares me is that I can see some clown like Bone looking at that blade thinking it is rusty and having you polish all that camo off until it shines like his jump boots.

Messrs. Harsey and Reeves call that a promotional tool for repeat sales.

I've been drooling over Striders for the past few years and finally bit the bullet. I picked up a new (to me) Strider AR with the digicam blade and coyote G-10.Brother Rat, nice acquisition. Shelby Chan's Digital Camo pics showed the first new knife pictures I've seen in a long time which literally made me salivate.
Attached are pics of my Digicam. (Sir DDD, note, "Mine mine mine!" :D )
I like it because:
- At a glance, it's just freakin' beautiful.
- Close-up, it's fascinating.
- It looks like the new marpat digital camo which looks really cool on clothing & gear.
- As a geek, I find this marpat stuff very appealing. I see the little squares and think 1's,0's, pantones.
- It's randomness, but in a very precise way.
- It's another bad-a*s example of Mick & team's creativity, design skill, and successful application of those 2 things to a create result. i.e., Lots of people have good ideas. Not many people can figure out how to successfully execute good / great ideas.
To say that this knife is big, thick, and heavy is a serious understatement. Until I received my Kukri, the biggest fixed blade I had was a Strider DA.
I'd open the drawer, scream, and slam the drawer shut. Till I got used to it.

Definitely looks rusted.
Easily hidden in a farm toolbox. :D

That's a beautiful blade Ms. FS. An SMF is on my "to get" list, but I think my next one is going to be an SnG or a WB. So many cool toys, so little money to go around. :(

And who do ya'll think prompted Strider to do the digital cammo thing? :D
eidted to add:
we heavily promote the best cammo possible on knife blades to encourage replacement sales when the knife is set down in the proper matching environment.
Let me state this another way, if your working in the artic, we paint the knife white.

I think FS said somewhere else that she did.

If she goes back over two years and three months, then she's got it.
Edited to add: I drew some pics and sent them to someone down there...

I think FS said somewhere else that she did.Nope nope nope! Digicam was definitely positively not my idea!
I merely drooled when I saw the end result.
And who do ya'll think prompted Strider to do the digital cammo thing? :DYou did Mr. Harsey?

I think Mick told me it was Al Gore's idea......

One detail I hugely like about that knife and my other SNG is the screw they selected to use.
It's so.... neo-industrial-rugged looking.
