It's no suprise to me that she is now coming out of retirement (previously employed as a dip$h!t) to support the anti-war movement. She probably had to build a little steam after the book release and movie.

I doubt that she'll ever learn from her mistakes. Claiming that she had dealt with her demons from the Vietnam era. I guess the bitch ain't happy unless she's got some. Damn sure to create some new ones with Iraq war vets.

I'd probably feel a bit sad if someone where to cap the woman in public...... Okay so I'm a bad liar. :D

They would probably surrender to us after hosting her for a week. Worst case, they could always put her in a burkah and saw her head off on tape.

Hell I'd do pay-per view for that little treat. I'd even buy a Harsey Tactical Folder to send to the Islamo-Talibanistas for that little carving game. Although Bill might have a problem with his steel becoming tainted. :D

Not at all surprised, but rather relieved that she's finally out-ed herself. I like it when lefties stop pretending to have embraced the middle and just go further out than they've ever been. But it's a cruel enjoyment. Rather like getting a thrill out of watching someone go insane. I'm no longer burdened with trying to pretend there is hope for them, but I can only hope they don't cause irreparable damage as they loon about.

She's a traitor. . . and I suppose in a decade or so after she's stirred the pot this time, she'll come out and apologize for her (repeat) betrayal. This is like a bad movie.

The thing is, I'm proud that we live in a country where people who disagree with our foreign policy can petition the government to change course. Adjust fire, as it were. I can honestly say I don't begrudge the war protesters for expressing their beliefs (except when they drive home from the protest in their SUVs).

But Hanoi Jane more than played her card years ago. The woman needs a gag.

Vegetable Oil And Tours Of 'Duty'
By Oliver North
August 29, 2005

FRANCE -- "Hanoi Jane" Fonda seems to have tired of her moniker. The wilted flower child who firmly established her place in American history when she mounted a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun has decided it's time to teach a whole new generation to blame America first. If she actually goes through with her plans for a new protest movement, she may well become known as "Jihadist Jane." It has a better ring. More alliteration.

Fonda says she wants to criss-cross the nation in a bus powered by vegetable oil, advocating the end of U.S. military operations in Iraq. She's inviting the families of war veterans to ride along as props because, she says, the veterans she met while hawking her autobiography encouraged her to "break her silence."

Unfortunately, her publicists won't give the names of any veterans slated to join her tour, and the only notable encounter she's had with a veteran recently ended with her wiping that wheelchair-bound hero's saliva off her face. "I've decided I'm coming out," she said. "It's another example of the government lying to the American people in order to get us into war." She added that, "It's going to be pretty exciting." Maybe. Fonda recognizes that she carries "a lot of baggage" -- and she wasn't talking about the stuff removed by her plastic surgeon.

One way Fonda can overcome the lack of enthusiasm for her "nationwide tour," is to grant "exclusive access" to journalists who could help her tell her story. One suggestion would be to include NBC anchorman Brian Williams, who could put the tour and the war in historical perspective. After all, it was Williams' brilliant insight during a recent broadcast that revealed to the American public what they never previously knew -- that the first few American presidents were "terrorists." Another suggestion is to include former CNN correspondent Peter Arnett. Arnett, who makes his home in Baghdad, would do a great job of explaining the war and its meaning -- from the terrorists' point of view.

Another A-list guest Fonda should include is Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll. It seems Ms. Knoll likes to crash the funerals of fallen heroes and hand out bumper stickers and yard signs. Liberals started this practice a few years ago when they turned the funeral of Sen. Paul Wellstone into a foot-stompin', heart-thumpin', hand-clappin', barn-burnin', get-out-the-vote affair. But when Knoll showed up -- uninvited -- to the funeral of Marine Staff Sgt. Joseph Goodrich to assure the grieving family that, "Our government is against this war," it crossed the line of decency, making her a perfect candidate to join Jihad Jane.

(my favorite part...) Finally, Fonda needs to select an exciting itinerary. Herewith, are a few suggestions:

Jane, start in the South. Southerners are naturally hospitable. Take in the D-Day Museum in New Orleans. It's full of surprises. You like the canard that "Iraq had nothing to do with Sept. 11." Well, the Germans didn't attack us at Pearl Harbor, but we fought them anyhow. A bit of advice if I may: Bring your own mechanic. Though the south has its fair share of farms, Cooter's Garage outlets, and NASCAR fans, no self-respecting mechanic is going to fix a broken down vegetable oil-powered bus.

Then, swing by a few sites in Texas to tell soldiers they're "fighting and dying for lies." Fort Hood -- home of the 4th Infantry Division -- might work. These soldiers that I covered for FOX News have already spent a year in Iraq -- and they are getting ready to go again! They clearly need your help because they are reenlisting at a phenomenal pace -- the unit has already exceeded its retention goals for the entire year.

The Burn Unit at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston would surely have a few of the soldiers you claim to support; perhaps they'd be interested to hear your opinions about the low value of their disfiguring sacrifices. CENTCOM, Fort Stewart, Camp Lejeune and Fort Bragg, the home of our Special Forces, are all "must sees" along the way.

Finally, Jane, you'll want to finish in our nation's capital. When you get there, pick up Teddy Kennedy and Dick Durbin. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when they relate their historical analogies to the boys over at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center.

Be sure to visit the graves of America's heroes at Arlington Cemetery before making your final stop at a polished granite wall on the National Mall. There, you will find inscribed the names of 58,249 heroes you spat upon when perched atop that VC gun.

Hopefully at some point during your Jihadist journey, you will bump into Sgt. Christopher Missick of the 319th Signal Battalion. While in Iraq, Missick met hundreds of good Americans through his blog, "A Line in the Sand." Home now, he and a fellow veteran are driving around the country -- fueled by conventional gasoline -- to meet some of the patriots -- his "web of support" -- who sent letters, packages and prayers. He wants to personally thank them and "meet the heart of America."

That's the kind of support the troops appreciate, not your caravan of craven critics.

Author's note: In last week's column, Sen. Dick Durbin of Pol Pot fame was misidentified as being from Ohio. While readers in Illinois were appreciative of his relocation, I regret the embarrassment it caused our friends in the Buckeye State.

Rumors suggest Fonda visit

By Matt Leclercq

Staff writer
Is Jane Fonda returning to Fayetteville?

The actress announced plans over the weekend to reprise her anti-war activism for the first time since her cross-country demonstrations during the Vietnam War. The activism earned her the nickname “Hanoi Jane” and the loathing of Fayetteville veterans.

This time, Fonda and a group of war opponents will travel by bus to undisclosed cities, calling for an end to U.S. operations in Iraq.

The announcement at a book signing in Santa Fe, N.M., apparently caught some national peace organizations off-guard. A peace activist who has been in communication with one of the organizations said Monday that Fonda has been in talks with the group for some time about a tour.

Fonda wants to make the home of Fort Bragg one of the stops, the peace activist said.

“It is being considered. It is being talked about. But no definite decisions have been made,” said the activist, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Anger simmers
A Fonda appearance would no doubt stir anger in a military town thick with Vietnam veterans. Many haven’t forgiven her for some of the things she said 35 years ago, or for her July 1972 visit to North Vietnam during which she was photographed with a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun.

“I don’t see any good she can do by coming here,” said Joe Fare, who fought in Vietnam and now leads the Retired Military Association in Fayetteville. “All she’s doing now is continuing the same old crap she’s done back then.

“Just like we don’t forget the people we left behind over there...we don’t forget the people who betrayed us over there,” he said.

Fonda’s publicist in Los Angeles wasn’t available to comment on the tour, according to her office. Fonda offered few details herself during her appearance to promote her book, “My Life So Far,” on Saturday. Prompted by a question from the audience, Fonda said war veterans she has met on a nationwide book tour have encouraged her to break her silence on the Iraq war, The New Mexican newspaper reported.

“I have not taken a stand on any war since Vietnam,” she said. “I carry a lot of baggage from that.”

Early trips
Fonda attracted crowds and controversy during her earlier stops in Fayetteville. In 1970, she was expelled from Fort Bragg when she and others tried to hand out anti-war brochures at the U.S. Army Training Center. Later that day, about 2,000 demonstrators listened to calls for soldiers to go on strike to force an end to the Vietnam War. Fonda compared the war to the German occupation of Europe during World War II, urging anti-war servicemen to stay in the Army to fight for peace within the system.

Less than a year later, Fonda and actors Donald Sutherland and Peter Boyle staged a “Free the Army” show at a Hay Street coffeehouse.

Fonda has kept a lower profile for most of the past two decades but still gets angry responses at public appearances.

She made news at a book-signing stop in Kansas City in April when a veteran spat on her.

Chuck Fager, head of the Quaker House in Fayetteville, said a Fonda stop in Fayetteville would probably include an apology to troops for some of her actions — something she has done in the past. Fager called the idea of a visit “intriguing.”

“I’m for the First Amendment. I’d be in support of her right to do that,” he said. “But it would be controversial, no doubt about it.”

The lingering anger at Fonda has been apparent for weeks at the Gaslight Lounge. The bar’s owners have had a “No Jane Fonda” sign on their marquee along Fort Bragg Road since the actress began promoting her recent movie, “Monster-In-Law.”

“I hope she doesn’t come here,” said owner Jim Faddis, a retired soldier. “But if she does, best of luck to her — but stay away from me.”

Fonda's Visits

Jane Fonda has been in Fayetteville before, during the years in which she was at the front of Vietnam War protests.

May 16, 1970

Jane Fonda was expelled from the U.S. Army Training Center on Fort Bragg while trying to hand out anti-war leaflets. She joined 2,000 demonstrators at Rowan Park.

Fonda compared the Vietnam War to German occupation of Europe in World War II.

“We’re fighting this war for the same reasons,” she said, according to newspaper accounts. “Vietnam is rich in natural resources.”

March 13, 1971

Fonda, joined by actors Donald Sutherland and Peter Boyle, staged an anti-war show at the Haymarket Square coffee house in front of 400 young people, including many soldiers.

Organizers had asked to stage the show on Fort Bragg but were denied by Lt. Gen. John J. Tolson on the grounds that it was “detrimental to the discipline and morale of the troops.”

Geez, what rock did this bitch crawl out from under? She must really be craving that attention. And what sucks is that I think Henry Fonda was a great actor; she must have been switched at birth.

A link to a story about the DC protest:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070127/ap_on_re_us/iraq_protest

"Air Force Staff Sgt. Tassi McKee, 26, an intelligence specialist at Fort Meade, Md., said she joined the Air Force because of patriotism, travel and money for college. "After we went to Iraq, I began to see through the lies," she said"

And of course, they get a quote from an Active Duty intell NCO from Fort Meade. I really hope her supervisor smokes her on Monday. I looked her up on the AF Portal. She's with the 22 Intelligence Sq/Flt 1. I wonder if she's even stepped foot out of the US, let alone in Iraq or A'stan.

It figures. I would imagine SSgt McKee's priorities went something like this at enlistment: money for college, travel, patriotism (or my dad is a retired MC Full-Bird and I'd better join the military or he'll disown me....crap!.....I'll join the AF).

The "cele"brat"ies I expected to be there and hear from...AD folks...not so much.

Celebrities Pack D.C. War Protest

More Hollywood celebrities sparkled the dais than button-down Washington typically sees in a month.

Oscar-award winner Sean Penn had a warning for politicians on the ballot in 2008. "If they don't stand up and make a resolution as binding as the death toll, we are not going to be behind those politicians," he said.
