You won't find TS mentioned in this article (Quiet Professional, you know), but his efforts as an advisory witness played a significant role in the outcome. After a restful night at a Five Star Hotel he appearred in court to craft the questions and strategy that would dismantle the Defense's Expert Witness on Marksmanship. It was a thing of beauty. The Defense Attorney remarked that he had never had an Expert Witness so utterly destroyed on the stand.

Take a bow TS

Out of curiosity, what was the defenses (or rather defenseless :D ) expert tesitifying to?

The expert (claims he was SF) stated that the shot did not prove the element of intent as the shooter had no prior firearms experience and was unfamiliar with a difficult to shoot .45 semi-auto. His contention was that the defendant would have no confidence that his firing the gun in such a manner would result in the death of the victim. They further contended that the suspect could not be held responsible for intent as there was no evidence to indicate that he was intentionally shooting at the victim. She was standing in a crowd.

The Voir Dire of the expert outside the presence of the jury is where TS did some real damage. He was able to craft and guide the prosecutor's VD to expose the lack of training, certifications, and experience in ballistics. This resulted in the Judge not allowing him to testify regarding evidence that the gun malfunctioned. Remember the gun was not available for examination as it was destroyed and discarded the night of the murder. That prevented one more theory from being introduced. TS's knowledge allowed the DA to show that the expert was biased and refused to admit the most probable scenario. The defendant aimed the gun at the victim, pulled the trigger, which resulted in the death. On a question crafted by TS the following was the result.

Mr Expert would you say that the likelihood of the victim being shot increases when the gun is intentionally pointed at her than if the shooter would have fired the gun by pointing back over his shoulder and firing the gun without looking at the victim.

Answer: No I would say the chances of her being struck in either scenario would result in the same low probability of a hit due to the shooter's inexperience!

Okay enough. But suffice it to say that this went on for 4 hours with similar results for the prosecution.

Thank you, Team Sergeant, for doing that. In a tragic instance, you came forward to put a knucklehead in his proper place (prison). While the young lady is gone, at the least you helped her family.

Ugh yeah, Five star..... I've slept better in war zones.

One expert with a bruised ego and one badass going to serve a long sentence.

I'm satisfied with the end result.

If the Team Sergeant is this effective on so called experts in a courtroom I think we should let him loose on CNN, FOX, and every other network that uses these experts.

Hell it'd be a bloodbath and maybe TS would consider coming out of retirement. :D

Outstanding TS........

As a side note:
TS vetted me for this site. We met a few months ago. He filled me in on some local info here in the Phoenix area. It's not my place to repeat any of it, but I do know this....... Whether it be this website, any website, or in everyday life, if he catches the scent of a poser trying to make money off the blood of our brothers, they'd best pull a sadam hussein and find a hole to live in.

Again, a hell of a 'coup' TS

No doubt about that. Did not mean to infer that either. TS is the only person on this site I have met in person. Just relating what I learned first hand.

I got out late 1971. Throughout the years and decades, I ran into quite a few posers due to different circumstances. There was no internet, I didn't have contacts at Bragg. What I did for a couple decades was engage the person in simple, casual conversation. Sometimes, I'd start with Jump School (there are Airborne posers too). Then, arrival at FT Bragg, Usually between those two, you could ferret out a poser. If not, I went to Phase 1. If I had been getting Uh Huhs, yeps, yeah sure was a bitch huhs. I'd toss in fewer truths and liberally sprinkle with out and out made up BS. That would expose at least anyone up to and including making it through Phase 1. There were MANY. If they passed to that point, I just kept going to graduation. If they passed, we'd just end up buying each other beer all night and talking about what we did after graduation. Thing was...... with those who had served in SF, they were doing the same to me. :D

At any rate AM. I know damn well you guys will go after a poser like Banshees on steroids.

I can attest to that. I have had great response in my inquiries from the QPs here. File was sent to appropriate authorities. They seem to be interested in a determination. Will keep you posted.
