...and happy to have SFAS behind me.

Class started with 375 and on Wednesday morning, the Day of Days, we had 248 left, excluding officers and West Pointers which made up another 22. 181 enlisted soldiers were selected and there was no boards for those marginal on points. The JIN (Joe Information Network) rumor was the Officers from each team decided who would be selected...but I have no confimation as of yet on it.

This SFAS class was the first, so said the cadre, to do an entire week of team events in some time. I now understand why Team Week is such a vital part of the process. You really get to see who has heart and who the sand baggers are when things get tough, its 98 degrees out, you are tired, frustrated, and hungry and have another 3 miles to go before you finish the first event of the day...

I am looking forward to my next step in the process.

Thanks to all for their thoughts and prayers.

Crip

There are 3 other members here who were selected, but I will let them out themselves. Stories and humor from MacKall to follow.

Untrue, unless the Battalion Commander, the CSM, and the B Company cadre were the "Officers" you are referring to.

Quite the party, isn't it? And even after that, the fun doesn't stop (even thought your feet really, really want to).

You really get to see who has heart and who the sand baggers are...

Freudian slip?

Many congrats, Crip. Good luck once the training begins.

Well done lads. Now don't do what I have seen folks do in the past and think that because they "have been tested and selected" that there are no more "tests". This is just the beginning and the "testing /vetting/learning/growing/leading/following/teaching/mentoring/sweating/aching/healing/ cycle" never ends but increases in intensity both in the classroom environment and expodentially throughout the rest of your time with SF.

An update on the "cake-eaters" (aka officers): 13 + 6 cadets were selected out of the of 29 who showed up. I was proud to be selected and know it was this site that considerally aided me. Thanks to all who have made the information available. It was a good kick in the nuts, even for a hard charging squid! In fact both of us Navy kids made it.

Next problem I face, if anyone can offer some help: The Navy has agreed to release me to the Army via Intra-Service Transfer NET January 2006. Problem is I am slated for the Captain's course in September '05. How can I keep my commitment to my soon to be employer? I have a few "stars" I can call on, but don't want to go that route yet...

Again, thanks for all the help. I mentioned this site to a couple of the Cadre, hope they find their way here.

So much for your plan to get into another MOS. :D

You say that as if the Delta course is not my target. lol

My thoughts were that I would attend one of the three 'short' courses, then once finished with the Q have my NG unit extend my orders keeping me here for the Delta course. It would lengthen my stay at Bragg another 3 months, but I would draw SDAP and FLPP while in the Delta course. Still waiting for a call from the Admin Sgt at my unit. MSG L says it should not be a problem...

No, but now that you mention it...lol

The idea was not mine, but that of SGM M in the NG Liaison's office. I had actually not given it much thought until I had another conversation with Col K (JSOMT-C) just before leaving for MacKall. He mentioned it again... I am just ready to get into training again and get it overwith and on a team.

Congrats on getting selected, sir.

Big Mo did get selected. He is good to go along with about 11 others including myself and the other cat trekking in just a Brown T. Send me a PM with your RN and team number will you. If you care, I can update you on any other O's. Congrats on selection and your MOS.
