Wow, I sure am looking forward to getting my paws wrapped around one of these. :D

Shot it already.

Nice toy. Not tactical practical.

From the descriptions, it seems rugged enough... does it face the same range/mag capacity issues that other shotguns face in a military tactical situation?

Why would you use a shotgun for a GP combat weapon?

Based on your combat experience, of course.

My combat experience is admittedly nil, consisting entirely of shotting paper targets that don't shoot back. I guess iI was incorrectly assuming that this weapon would have some application in CQB/room clearing operations. Of course, you all know better than I. I guess I learn something new every day. :o

Fine, we are going to make you a member of a squad in a MOUT scenario.

How many rounds are you going to carry for that hog? Each 20 round mag is in the neighborhood of 5 lbs., BTW, and you are tasked to clear about five blocks that day, on foot.

Hey, along the way, a BG with a weapon down the street opens up on you from a rooftop 250 meters away. What will you do now?

I wasn't thinking through enough scenarios, but now that you mention that, I must say that I agree with you entirely- probably better to stick with the M4.

Function was not quite as flawless as they made it seem either.

Low recoil, nothing cooler in a mag fed weapon than ripping off a 20 round burst of 12 gauge, except possibly a C Mag through a Thompson.

Practically, not so neat for military use.

LOL, I do find it amazing what people think would work in a combat situation.

dedeppm,

The Reaper is correct, a canteen of cold water would last longer than that toy in a real CQB situation.
If you do not believe so find out the weight of 300 rounds of what that ammo weighs and how much space it takes up and get back to me.

In my very limited real world experience I would have to say that a shotgun is a good squad, or team support weapon, but not a MBW.
Having said that I don't see why you'd need anyhting more than a Mossberg 590. I had a Benelli M-3 Super 90 for a bit and it was the most awkward and impractical shotgun that I have ever used.

Hi all , the old cut down remmie 870 " skeleton key " has practical mout applications ;)
