Man, is it just me, or does Blackwater seem to have a black cloud over their collective heads?

I guess it's because they're out there amongst 'em, but they seem to have taken more than their share of casualties.

RIP, gents.. may your sacrifices not be in vain.

Evidentally there is a video circulating with the footage of what happened.

Looks like there was 1 survivor, a Bulgarian, with broken legs. The article explains what happened to him.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4472199.stm

The cameraman focuses on two bodies. One appears to be dead and is badly charred.

The second person, wearing a blue flight suit, is alive but badly hurt.

The cameraman orders him to stand up, but the survivor says he has a broken leg and asks for help.

The militants appear to help him up, and tell him to run away.

Then they shoot him at point blank range and he collapses.

They continue to shoot the body, shouting "Allahu Akbar" (God is Great).

Yesterday they were reporting it was a missle and today they are now saying heat seeking missle. I saw a still frame showing the flaming helo going down so I suppose that would support that?

For those of you NOT on BP meds there are some lovely threads by patriotic Americans over at the Democratic Underground.

Local news is reporting that Kentucky lost 2 former members of 20th Group.

Two private security workers who recently left the Kentucky National Guard and had served in Afghanistan were killed in separate attacks this week in Iraq.

Steve McGovern, 24, of Lexington, was among six American security workers who died Thursday when a helicopter was shot down near Baghdad, said Gary Jackson, president of the private contractor, Blackwater USA.

James Hunt II, 34, also of Lexington, was killed Wednesday, according to the Kentucky Guard. A Reuters report said Hunt died in a convoy attack.

Both men went to Afghanistan with the 20th Special Forces Group of the Guard, spokesman David Altom said. Both had been sergeants and left the Louisville-based unit in February, he said.
