5 dead, several others seriously hurt at Brookfield hotel
Gunman opened fire at church meeting, then killed himself, police say

A gunman opened fire at the Sheraton Hotel on Moorland Road in Brookfield this afternoon, killing four people and seriously wounding up to eight others before killing himself, according to police.
The shootings apparently occurred at a church gathering in a meeting room at the hotel shortly before 1 p.m., Brookfield police said. The victims ranged in age from their early teens to their 60s. Police did not release the name of the church group involved.
No other suspects are being sought in the incident.
The hotel is just off of Interstate 94 near the Brookfield Square Mall.
Brookfield police asked people with information to call 1-262-787-3702.
