The news out this week about some AI capabilities is a little concerning. But I don't really know enough about the subject . Mostly, I follow Ai stories as they relate to replacing peoples jobs. Or how quantum compute power may affect encryption.

If one company has this capability now, the hackers/bad guys cant be far behind?
Should we be worried? Much ado about nothing?

Sounds like software version of the chip everyone was after in the movie "Sneakers" - take over any IT system.

On one hand….
Anthropic’s moral stand on U.S. military use of artificial intelligence is reshaping the competition between leading AI companies but also exposing a growing awareness that maybe chatbots just aren’t capable enough for acts of war.
Anthropic's latest AI technology, called Mythos, is so powerful at revealing software vulnerabilities that the company is afraid to release the model publicly lest it fall into the hands of bad actors.
On the other hand….
Anthropic is sharing the tech with a select group of major companies, including Amazon, Apple, Cisco, JPMorgan Chase and Nvidia, so they can test the model and strengthen their own systems against cyberattacks
My conclusion…
If they were really afraid of misuse and had morals they wouldn’t release it at all, but they would rather get rich by releasing it to mega corps who will use it to make money. This is very similar to what happened during the COVID scam, big corps were open for business while the smaller businesses were required to close, which led to a growth in revenue and market share by big corps.
"Humans are the weakest link in security," Knight noted. "Humans have the ability to make mistakes when we're writing code. It's possible for vulnerabilities in source code to have never been found by humans."
Humans are the weakest link, that is the mantra of the AI Cult. And if humans are the weakest link then why do we need them?
