Gentlemen,
I am an active duty squid "O" in the process of an interservice transfer to the Army. I have an overwhwelming desire to fight the enemies of our great nation in the ranks of the Quiet Professionals. I have been selected to attend SFAS where I will find out if I have what it takes. During the past few years, I served as a Detachment OIC in SBT 20 and deployed to the NAG with NSWRON 7/10. I appreciate your time and attention.
I have a few questions that I have not found the answers to in my research. I am not trying to gain an unfair advantage in SFAS, just trying to get up to speed as I make the transfer from boats to boots.
1. Equipment configuration. I know what equipment to bring and what training regimine to follow as per the SORC website. My question is... How do I configure my gear. Ie what goes where on my LBE. Also, if I can get a shape to train with, should it be slung or hand carried at all times. I would like to know how these things will be required at SFAS. (Without violating any disclosure agreements)
2. Any other helpful advice in preparing for SFAS (which I will not know from SOC Net, SORC, or AKO) will be sincerely appreciated.
3. Shot in the dark question (cart before horse I know)...I have attended the NSW required Navy SERE course. Will this satisfy the Army SF reqs or should I just plan on losing 15 more lbs.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.
Very respectfully,
boat guy
