Wow, I don't know why some folks have to embelish themselves. He was taking A LOT of heat on the SF pages on FB.
He had folks on both sides of the aisle so I didn't know what to believe, but I guess the truth comes out..wow..

Yeah, he was getting pummeled on FB and deservingly so. At least to some degree he put himself in the ranks of the posers in the Hall of Shame.

Pitiful

When you have been getting away with shit for a long time but have an opportunity that is going to require you to "demonstrate" some character and integrity it is important that you cop to a few transgressions while posting prepared statements to your social media accounts.

It is also important to use several of these obligatory and politically expedient phrases to properly showcase your newfound humility...
...unintentionally misstated
...implied directly or indirectly
...misrepresented
...regret

Another way of describing this situation would be...
...lied about my actions
...denied accusations
...intentionally deceived
...accused others of being full of peanut butter and jealousy
...proudly donned a mantle of victimhood because of haters

What are the odds that this guy is about to run for some sort of political office or bureaucratic appointment?
...or am I just being 'jelly

I have been observing the antics of the "50 Grenades of Tim Candy" for some time and am glad to see it is heading to his downfall. I merely thought of him as another "Bro-Vet" / "Super-Death-Killer" just from his own bloviating over the years. But it was his shenanigans during the fall of Kabul that sealed it for me. One of my nephews was with the unit tasked to fly in and try to make an edible meal out of the shit sandwich the Biden admin created. What little my nephew was able to tell me was infuriating. His best assessment of the fallout from the "Pineapple Express" was "Good Initiative-Poor Execution."

Once other people beyond the Jocko Willinks, Sean Hannitys and Bro-Vet groupies started reading Tim Candy's book, several former SOF guys with social media platforms and contacts on the AD side, began to dig. Tim's future in the military and combat sports was ending and based on his recent social media activity, it was surmised that he was looking to slither his way into politics. I believe the main reason the guys on social media moved against him was because Tim was trying to build himself into another Dan Crenshaw, but worse.

Box, leave it to you to break it down where the simple minded can understand. Thanks from a member of the simple and easily influenced crowd. :D

The sad thing is that the things he legitimately did do were pretty cool and way beyond what your average Joe accomplishes in life. If he just stuck with that he still would have been able to parlay it into a substantial online/internet following.

In the atmosphere of "I have a cool guy YouTube / TikTok / Instagram / Facebook / Fuck the Quiet Professional moniker" channel age - simply being proud of (and accountable to) the things you actually did do doesn't separate you out from the other 100 dudes with beards and a tattered ball cap doing the circuit for "likes and followers".

Personally I don't get it.

Of course - we are a product of our own sense of self importance. When I reached out to the SOA for membership; I posted about how my dick and balls not being worthy of their company. "You did shit for 2+ decades - but not our level shit"... OK, whatever. Not THAT important to me. It's the focus of folks like Kennedy -> "Look at me! Hear my stories! LOVE ME!!!!!"

Whatever....

The community was, imo, healthier when no one knew wtf we were about or doing. That included the rest of the Army too.

SEAL's started this crap decades ago and sadly, we have followed suit but not (thankfully) to the extent they have.

Once the dick measuring of whose Black Ops are blacker started on social media...
...without a public crucifixion by senior Army leaders
...it was all over but the crying.

Now - we have active duty 'vet-bro's' doing podcast in uniform because 'muh retention.

It's ok.
It's been ok since GO level commands published their first official social media post.

Nothing to see here - move along

Well to be completely fair there was "The Green Berets" by Robin Moore.

Yeah, but we had class....John Wayne for crikeys sake..:lifter:cool: Looking back, for that point in time, I can't think of someone else who could've pulled that off, and the film is a quote-fest.
