View Full Version : Apprentice TEMP Mod for knives

Bill Harsey
02-16-2005, 17:01
I have to be away from the keyboard for a couple days.

Since this is the middle of winter and you kids might need a new chew toy I have assigned Mod duties to another person here in the knife forum for these "couple days."

This person will have to use superior intellect to handle any business because no way am I turning over any "knobs and switches" here. I'm not that brave.

Take it away Ms. FrontSight.

Well, this should be interesting. :munchin

Assuming we are not subjected to four days of unendless HAK pimping by the TEMP Mod or endless stories of the thoroughly whipped boyfriend.

Did you explain the difference between Mod and Admin to her, or (as I expect) does she prefer to learn the hard way? :D

Is this to imply that there is an acceptable amount of tiger-striped jewelry allowed in here?

I don't know what's worse: Saca's bling-bling, Air.177's crushed-velvet pimp gun, or FS's tiger-striped affront to respectable HK pistols everywhere. :D

OK, there is a catch to all this, which is that at some point during the short period while Mr. Harsey will be away from the keyboard, I too have to make an 18 hour trip.

Therefore, I hereby bequeath junior-temp-Mod-Apprenticeship rights collectively to Gypsy, lrd, Auntie Pandora. Any other femme-type who is not-a-SCHWEF (SCreaming Helpless can't-use-WEapons Female) and has the right sassy attitude quotient may also apply.

This means you all need to be wearing UtB's by the time I get back! They are easy to sew! (see details in my photo album link) The one I made out of white denim lasted a year!

FrontSightI have a really nice sewing machine that will embroider your name...but I think you've already personalized yours...:D

TRWelllll I couldn't find anyone else to let me potentially mess up a $28 bra by sewing on a gun-holster! Femme types are fussy about these things. (Yes, that is me, in my bathroom. Warning - angles make normal-sized objects appear bigger than they are (seriously!))

When I had the first kydex one done I mailed a bra to the holster maker so he could make sure the clips went around the underwire. He said it was the most unusual thing he's ever received to make a holster for. He would never tell me how he tested it, but I asked him to PLEASE not stretch it out by putting it around *his* ribs! He nearly choked...

Ooops....looks like FS has been busted.Gypsy, that was baaaaaaaaaaad!!

Ok, guess I'll need an HAK so I can design a UtB.No you SG! With a HAK, a UtB arrangement is easy, just get a Bra Clip + a HAK, et voila. Design is already done! No construction needed.

For a UtB for a gun, you'll first need a [small - Seacamp-sized] gun!
Then some sewing skills! Pic #3 shows the exact attachment locations for something with the weight distribution of a J-frame http://www.badlandsforums.com/fs/coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=54

Yayyyyyyy Gypsy's going to get a UtB! Then I won't be the only female walking the planet with one! :D

Hey do you think Mr. Harsey will be scandalized that we are discussing Bras and UtB's in his forum while he's away? :lifter

In fact, I have received emails criticizing my sewing abilities as witnessed by the UtB. I just said hey, it did the job!

Edit: One of your edged weapons. LOLI knew what you meant!

Ok I'll start the "ream of steel questions" :Yet another good attempt FS: ;)

BTW, Isn't a 'ream' a quantity of paper sheets numbering somewhere in the hundreds? If still in school, I'm thinkin' that would be one heavy notebook in terms of steel. Then again, terms and definitions have changed a bit since my younger days.

They forced me to go, honest. It was for my kid's 4th year Latin class intensive seminar and I drove them to the coast and then camped out in the woods while they stayed dry and got ready for an AP Latin exam.

Those are the hardest 4 fish I ever caught, casting from shore straight into the wind all day long until my arms almost broke off.

Do you think I'd be allowed to come home without catching something?
