What has happened to the process of electing the president of the United States? There was a time not all that long ago when well known and established politicians announced that they were running for the office. They campaigned they debated they ran in primaries and eventually one of them came out on top, this used to be decided at the big convention. I get that Donald Trump was the presumptive nominee for the Republicans he is very popular. However for the life of me I do not get how Joe Biden was more or less handed the nomination. He was a poor candidate 40 years ago, again 4 years ago and yet again in 2024. There was a time in this country when the voters saw through the losers, Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis were thoroughly trounced lucky to have carried their home states. Joe Biden should have done no better in 2020.
And now Joe has stepped down and a person who had absolutely no support in her bid for the presidency in 2020 has in the matter of less than week been anointed the democrat nominee. And furthermore it has been declared that she has the delegates to get the nomination. Who chose her? It certainly was not the people we know how well she did four years ago. She became the VP based on two qualifications, ethnicity and sex. In nearly four years she has done nothing to elevate herself to the level of leader of the free world. Who has been running the United States the past four years? Certainly not Joe Biden and if Harris is elected it won’t be her either.

We don't actually elect a president. We "select" one from an approved list after that list is scrubbed by a third party organization that conducts fundraising to support its activities. As it is, the DNC makes up their rules as they go. So does the RNC for that matter. Those committees are businesses in business to advance party messaging and narratives - their process is simple - advance the party.

There was no "widespread" election fraud. CNN, MSNBC, and ALL of the political opponents and talking head repeatedly admitted as much.
THERE WAS NO WIDESPREAD ELECTION FRAUD.

Box is spot-on. First, we are NOT a democracy. A LOT of folks do NOT understand that. We are a Constitutional Republic.
Second, we do NOT vote for the President. We actually vote for a set of electors that is supposedly "bound" to take our intentions and vote for the actual President after the general election. Great article some years back titled something like "The case of the faithless electors." That article puts the persecution of trump square into the spotlight as being unconstitutional for the alleged shenanigans of the last election.
Third, the DNC does NOT play by any recognized rule book. They make shit up, they lie, they cheat, they steal. Look at what they did to Bernie Sanders when her Thighness, Chillery, stepped into the ring for her anointment. They are a mash-mash of constituencies and James Clyburne is directly responsible for the mess we are in right now. To get the black vote, he insisted that Kamala be on the Biden ticket in 2020. The DNC put her on the ticket, told Bi-Dumb to STFU and eat his peas, and Clyburne delivered the stupid black vote like sheep walking into the slaughterhouse. The race hustlers in the black caucus have done tremendous damage to the country and race relations as a whole. The black vote is too stupid, and too controlled to realize they are being played. In the words of "Charlemagne The God: Nigga, wake up." Unfortunately, he is a race hustler too stupid to understand he is being played by his white overlords. Democrats hate them some uppity blacks who deign to stray from the plantation. That's why intellectuals like Carson, Thomas, Sowell, etc. scare them.

I'm not so sure about that, the 17th Amendment effectively ended the Republic by taking away the states' voices. AZ has had a long history of Republican Legislatures, but the people have elected either RINO or Democrat senators. None of them would have been appointed or elected by our Legislature or they would have been recalled if they acted in opposition to the Legislature.
Elections are a façade. The government flunkies are the mouthpieces and enforcers. Choice at a ballot box is an illusion.
The only real powers in the US reside with commerce. People vote with their dollars. Businesses (the ones who make and sell things / services) are in total control of the mechanisms (“government”) to keep prices low and supply up.
The rest is just smoke and mirrors designed to by the businesses to keep costs low and shelves full while the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB are on their TV’s.
Politics is a spectator sport.

Can't remember if it was here but heard a suggestion recently that counties (where the little burgs & hamlets are consolidated) should not announce their totals until they're ALL done counting. Could possibly put a difficulty on someone trying to divine how many Totes Full o' Votes™ to pull out of the rusted E250 van with out of state tags.
