I found this interesting and welcome your thoughts. Note that his definition of civil war is broad, and includes forms of nonviolent conflict. For those who don't know who Ray Dalio is, he's a prominent hedge fund manager.

If it hasn’t happened yet, after all of the crap we’ve seen, it isn’t going to happen.
The A-ME-rikan people are more worried about the MLB right now. By the time Election Day comes around, the NFL and NBA will be in full swing. As long as the shelves have fatty-cakes and beer NOTHING will happen.
The proof of this is when those things disappeared because of the COVID BS, it still didn’t happen.
While I don’t particularly care for the communist dim-O-craps, they are ultimately controlled / limited by the businesses that own BOTH parties.
Will there be flare-ups of protesting crowds of “useful idiots”? Likely.
Will there be an outright overthrow of the clowns that think they are in charge of the governing bodies? No.
Worst case scenario is a sizable group (maybe a battalion strength) decides to “do something”. If it’s the lunatics on the dim side, the right is WAY better armed and just wants to be left alone. If the far-right tries, the vast majority of the middle right will stop them because all they want is to be left alone so they can go back to arguing over the last play call.
But hey…… it’s a fun thought experiment I guess?
If you start the conversation with 'civil war' I leave the room
