Special Forces Association Chapter LX

1957 US Army Original Okinawa Vietnam Boots LUG GoodYear WingFoot Paratrooper.
"These are "1st Pattern Okinawa Boots".

These were made in the 1950's and are the US Army's first attempt at a modern jungle boot.

The boots are basically WWII Double Buckle boots that have been redesigned with canvas parts for tropical climates.

The boots are often seen worn by early advisers who departed for Vietnam from Okinawa, hence the name"

From the Imelda Marcos collection?

I saw a pair of them in the small SF museum on Ft. Bragg (forever and always).
